Last December, Rebecca volunteered to help migrant families in the city of Mexico.
Many people lived in crowded shelters there.
Some people even were sent out in tents.
"I cared about what was happening." Rebecca said.
"People were in great need of help.
"When I came back home in Los Angeles, I had a strong feeling of giving a hand."Rebecca said.
Then she came up with an idea. She decided to set up a school.
She wanted to help kids go on with their education .
When she was child, school was the only safe place.
So she decided to do it because she saw herself in these kids.
She knew the importance of schools for kids.
Rebecca and her team were serious to start their school in July.
Children can learn English and Spanish in class.
The school now serves 45 students in the shelter.
Rebecca says it is the first bilingual school program for migrant kids on the US-Mexico border.
A lot of parents said, "Rebecca changed our children a lot.
I used to have to ask my children to go to school.
Now they are taking their studies luckily. They love going there."
